Early in the morning, we checked out of our hotel and took a bus back from Turpan to Urumqi. When we reached Urumqi, it was already lunch time. So we took a cab to a western restaurant which we read from a guidebook. It was said to be a place to ask for information on Xinjiang. However, the service was poor, they do not have anyone around for us to source for information and they do not allow us to use their phone to make internal call. Here's what I had for lunch over there. Food wasn't that bad though. But it wasn't cheap. Normal western food price in Singapore.
Lesson learnt: Take what you read in guidebooks with a pinch of salt. Especially those written by Ang Mohs. Some locals treat Ang Mohs better than they treat us, Asians.
And so we left that place angrily and proceeded to Diwopu Airport to take a plane to Kashgar. After arriving in Kashgar, we checked into Chinibagh Hotel.
This is the building that we stayed in.
After some rest and washing up, we made our way to the night market to have our dinner. It was already 10.30pm. But the night market was still bustling with life.
The sky looks like it was going to rain any time. Thank God that it didn't. There were tiny drops of rain though.
And we had BBQ brinjal, chicken wings, lamb, chicken, green chilli and fish. They all tasted the same because of the seasoning. No pictures were taken because we were too hungry!!!
Thereafter, we took a cab back and ended our day 4. Not many photos were taken because most of the time was spent travelling on the road and in the air!
